MARIAN Client / Server Interaction

چکیده

The MARIAN system, like many information systems, can be divided in to a client part and a server part (Fig. 1). Historically, MARIAN was designed to support stand-alone single-user clients running on desktop machines. Although some of these clients are still in existence, this has not been the primary means of interacting with the system since the Web revolution of the mid-1990s. Most users now interact with MARIAN through the MARIAN Web gateway WebGate. WebGate acts as a server to Web users and as a client to MARIAN. Multiple WebGates, sometimes on widely separated systems, can access the same MARIAN server, and beginning with MARIAN v. 2.0, single WebGates can access multiple servers. Systems based on the MARIAN search system, such as the Envision system, also function as clients to the MARIAN server.

A Novel Method for VANET Improvement using Cloud Computing

In this paper, we present a novel algorithm for VANET using cloud computing. We accomplish processing, routing and traffic control in a centralized and parallel way by adding one or more server to the network. Each car or node is considered a Client, in such a manner that routing, traffic control, getting information from client and data processing and storing are performed by one or more serve...

OpenMosix for the creation of low-latency, high-efficiency game clusters

These games are structured in a strictly client-server style, where the client is the game installed on the player's PC or console, and the server maintains the status, the interaction of players with the environment and the unraveling of the game story. Traditionally, the client/server interaction is maintained using many small UDP packets; most server systems use differential prediction techn...
